Many consider Marco Ferreri’s “The
Seed of Man” his most criminally underrated
film, and for good reason. Playing very much like
the inspiration for Cormac McCarthy’s Pulitzer
Prize winning, post apocalyptic novel “The
Road”, Ferreri’s film tells the story
of an unknown force that has ravaged the world
and of its population and its resources. A young
couple seeks safety and solitude in a house on
the coast where they attempt to turn the home
into a makeshift museum dedicated to the culture
of the human race. From there, the possibilities
are endless and in many ways, bleak.
Ferreri’s film is a true work of surreal
art that only adds to the already well-known fact
that Marco Ferreri was one of the most original
and daring director’s of his, or any day.
