NILSSON COLLECTION
This amazing collection of Harry Nilsson footage
is the true crown jewel for any Nilsson fan. Starting
with the supposedly lost documentary “Did
Somebody Drop His Mouse?” which documents
the recording of Nilsson’s landmark classic
follow up LP Son of Schmilsson. The film features
Peter Frampton, Ringo Starr, Bobby Keys and more.
As a documentary it really doesn’t work,
as it feels more like snippets of home movie footage
detailing the recording of the record, but the
candid voice over narration of Nilsson and his
producer Richard Perry make for some very intriguing
and essential stuff for Nilsson fans.
Also on this disc is a great TV special Nilsson
did around the release of “Nilsson Schmilsson”
featuring just him and a piano, and needless to
say it is a truly wonderful show, filled with
absolutely brilliant melody and sarcasm.
