Fright Night
Get ready for more Bollywood rip-off fun
with this 1989 remake of the 1985 horror
comedy Fright Night. The origianl title
of the film Wohi Bhayanak Raat translates
to That Same Horrifying Night about a club-hopping
vampire who hypnotizes party girls with
his mind control eye lasers until one day,
he picks up the wrong girl, a reincarnation
of a centuries old lover. For an Indian
film this one has its share of gore and
violence, and even some implied forced sex.
Needless to say, Indian censors were in
an uproar over this one, but it somehow
managed to make its way to movie theaters,
becoming a big hit in its native land.
