Monster
Shark
Directed by Lamberto Bava, son of Mario Bava,
the literally titled “Monster Shark”
represents another Italian try at creating a “Jaws”
clone. And as in the past, with films like “The
Last Shark”, it turned into a spectacular
failure, the kind of failure b-movie coinsures
flock to like, well, sharks to blood.
The story concerns a marine biologist, a dolphin
trainer, a research scientist and a local sheriff
who try to hunt down a large shark/octopus hybrid
that is devouring swimmers and fishermen off the
south Florida coast. The beast is called "Shark
rosso nell'oceano" which apparently translates
into Devilfish, and the movie is called “terrible”
which translates into some truly wonderful cinematic
hilarity! A must see for bad movie lovers the
world over!
